Canada Geese

Legend has it that Canada Geese mate for life.
When one mate dies, the other carries on alone.
My mate has died and like that Canadian icon, I am alone.
I am alone without my mate, but not lonely.
Unlike that winged icon, I have memory and hope.
Hope and faith that one day I will again be with my mate in another timeless place.
