John Ward
The thud of the ball,
the pounding of feet,
the great gasping of breath.
The pivoting foot,
the slamming of shoulder;
The leap in the air,
the pass with the fist.
The ball to the foot,
back up to the hand.
The twisting, the turning,
the dodging, the slipping.
The ball in the net,
And the ROAR of the crowd!
