Ballyshannon by-pass bridge
The Ballyshannon by-pass bridge which will effectively cut the town in four is coming into focus. A technical and specifications schematic reveals that inhabitants' fears of its impact on the town are well founded. Not only will the bridge affect the economy of the town but also its visual appearance, and this to its detriment.
From what has emerged thus far, little thought has been given to its design to soften its impact. A qualified examiner found it to be the product of elementary planning, a sort of bridge-building 101 design, functional, applicable anywhere, with little regard for aesthetics.
Now what would be a proper name for a bridge like that?
