Readers interested in the rehabilitation and enhancement of the lower River Erne catchment basin, particularly the preservation of its wild salmon stock, will note with interest the announcement on Wednesday, September 20, 2001, by the Minister of the Marine, Mr. F. Fahey, of £700,000 in funding for the improvement of angling and the management of river catchment areas in Ireland.

Of the 26 projects listed, nine are in County Galway. None are in Donegal.
